Overview & Key Points

Company N needed to translate their English-language sales training materials into Japanese on a tight schedule and budget. Standard machine translation was not a viable option due to frequent errors with technical terminology, while a full human translation process would not meet their cost and deadline requirements.

We proposed a solution that combined machine translation with our three-tiered post-editing service. Based on the understanding that the end-users were sales representatives who already had product knowledge, we selected our most streamlined option: "Ultralight Post-Editing."

To further enhance quality, we built a custom glossary by extracting key terms from their past instruction manuals and applied it to the MT engine, boosting the accuracy of the initial output. After the post-editing step, our production team performed a final review to ensure the language was natural and fluent. This process allowed us to secure high quality while still meeting the client's aggressive timeline and budget.

As a result, the sales team quickly received Japanese materials that enabled them to properly understand their own products, leading to more efficient training. The client gave us high praise, stating, "We were surprised that it was possible to get such high-quality materials so quickly while keeping the cost low."
